    Today, Thursday, the Central Bank of Iraq counted the number of employee cards in nationalization services until June 2023, while confirming that 558 government agencies have published electronic payment tools.
    The Director General of the Information Technology and Payments Department at the bank, Adnan Asaad, said during a workshop organized by the Association of Iraqi Private Banks, and attended by the “Al-Eqtisad News” correspondent, that “the number of employee cards in nationalization services until June 2023 amounted to more than 8 million and 653 thousand cards.” Noting that “the number of cards issued (prepaid, debit, credit) until September 2023 reached 17,822,310 cards.”
    He added, "558 government agencies have deployed electronic payment tools in their institutions," pointing out that "the total government electronic collection since the activation of the Council of Ministers' decision to publish electronic payment tools has reached more than 418 billion dinars."
    The economist continued, “Total government electronic collections in the year 2023
    from points of sale:
    * 287,543 transactions
    * 10.09 billion dinars
    From gas stations:
    * 299,325 transactions
    * 408.2 billion dinars
    Through payment gateways:
    * 1,046,050 transactions
    * 108.7 billion dinars
    *The value of using electronic payment in the year 2023 in the Iraqi currency, through approximately 16 million transactions, amounted to 9.6 trillion dinars.

    * The value of the use of electronic payment in 2023 in the dollar currency amounted to approximately 12 million dollars through 32,842 transactions.
