Today, Wednesday, member of the Parliamentary Integrity Committee, Hadi Al-Salami, revealed the presence of suspicions of corruption in the Najaf Municipality and Investment Departments, noting that most of the corruption files are related to investment opportunities.
Al-Salami told Al-Maalouma, “There are efforts by the Public Prosecution Service and the Integrity Commission to follow up on suspicions of corruption in the Najaf Municipality and Investment Departments.”
He added, "There are serious violations that led to the waste of public money by the Najaf Municipality, as investment opportunities were submitted to the Investment Authority, pointing out that some files have been referred and others are still in the investigation phase."
He pointed out “a temporary suspension of some corruption files referred by the municipality, noting “a high-level investigation in the Integrity Investigation Court in Najaf, as well as the Public Prosecution Service in Baghdad to follow up on corruption files in the Directorate of Urban Planning and Investment.”
He continued, “The procedures of the Integrity Commission and the Public Prosecution Service To combat corruption, it takes clear steps towards reforming the work of state institutions. Ended / 25 h
