A scientific symposium was held at the Riwaq Center in Baghdad entitled Economics (Societal Diversity Towards a Theory for Managing Creative Diversity in Iraq), presented by the writer Dr. Saad Salloum.
Salloum told Al-Sabah: The symposium examines the role of societal components, as well as religious minorities, in developing and supporting the Iraqi economy to the extent that it is an alternative to the rentier economy based on oil revenues.
He considered societal diversity, the fourth and permanent river that does not dry up like water and does not run out like oil, that is the guarantor of preserving the unity of Iraq as an extremely rich, diverse cultural and religious identity. He pointed out that diversity is a strength factor for the Iraqi state, as it constitutes the presence of many spiritual references for different religions. He highlighted Sources of the country's soft power.
The symposium, which was held in the Jaafar Abu Al-Taman Gallery at the Baghdad Center for Public Policy, was attended by a group of researchers, academics and consultants, who enriched the session with their questions and interventions.
