    The Minister of Electricity, Ziad Ali Fadel, confirmed today, Sunday, the ministry’s endeavor to support the private sector in securing its need for materials at the level of transmission, production and distribution lines in support of the local industry.
    Fadel said during his attendance at the industrial sector support workshop held by the Council of Advisors at the Prime Minister’s Office, in an interview reported by the official news agency and viewed by Al-Iqtisad News, that “there is a government trend to support the participation of the private sector in securing the materials that the ministry needs, as there is a great and continuous need for Level of transmission, production and distribution lines.

    He added, "The Ministry also presented an integrated project to establish strategic lines for the production of these materials by it to sustain its work and maintain the networks in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and the private sector to revitalize it, provide job opportunities, and cover the Ministry's need for basic materials for the electrical network from local production."

    He continued, "This need continues and will increase with the presence of new residential city projects and the materials they need to support the electricity situation in them."

    Today, Sunday, the Prime Minister, Mr. Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, attended a workshop held in the capital, Baghdad, aimed at supporting the national industry, especially the construction industries, in conjunction with the start of work in the new residential cities.

    In his speech during the workshop, Al-Sudani stressed the government’s seriousness in supporting the private sector and addressing the problems that obstruct its work through the Council of Ministers and the Ministerial Council for the Economy, noting that “the country is suffering from a real housing crisis that forced the government to move towards the housing sector, which is one of the most prominent sectors.” Which generates job opportunities, as certified by international organizations, in up to 89 professions.”

    He stated that "Iraq faces a real opportunity to create a vast national industry to secure construction materials, especially since it possesses primary resources, and there is an urgent need for these materials," noting that "the Jeweler City, which has completed all the conditions for its implementation without any obstacles or problems, and includes the construction of more “Out of 30,000 housing units, which means it needs a lot of construction materials.”

    He added, "The legal team is now working to complete granting the license to the city of Ali al-Wardi, which includes 120,000 housing units. The contract for the city of al-Ghazlani in Nineveh has also been signed, and within two or three months the three cities will be implemented."
