    Mustafa Falih:
The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan revealed a problem related to the Federal Court’s decision to settle the salaries of the region’s employees, while expressing his welcome of the decision because of its role in achieving stability in the region at all levels.
The leader of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Ghayath Al-Surji, said in an interview, “The court’s decision to settle employees’ salaries met with great joy within the Kurdish street and the Kurdish community. It is a good decision and we are not against this decision. It came at the invitation of representatives of employees and teachers, and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan welcomed the federal decision.” “.
He added, “The decision is correct, but the problem with the decision is that it says that their salaries will be received through the banks and banks affiliated with the federal government, and this is a kind of curtailing or diminishing the reputation of the Kurdistan region as a constitutional entity or a constitutional region, and the employees’ salaries must be delivered to the banks affiliated with the Kurdistan Regional Government and through these banks or Banks are spent on employees, but exclusively in the hands of the central government. I see it as a kind of injustice against the Kurdistan region due to the lack of trust.”
He explained, “The Federal Court’s decisions are binding, and we believe that the Federal Court’s recent decisions are fair and correct decisions, and we hope that they will be good for all Kurdish society.”
He stated, “If the salaries of regional government employees were disbursed every month by the center,
there would be economic, political, and financial stability,” pointing out that “last year, three salaries were not disbursed, and in almost the past years more than twenty or sixteen salaries were not disbursed, and most of the months were Salaries are paid at a rate of a third, a quarter, or a half, and as you know, Iraq, including the Kurdistan Regional Government, relies on 90% of their salaries.”
He stressed that “the lack of salaries reflects negatively on trade, the economy, finances, the security and political situation, and frankly, the market in the Kurdistan region was at a standstill, and not only the employees, but there is injustice against them only, but even to the entire people.”
Regarding the possibility of the regional government rejecting this decision, he said, “I cannot speak on behalf of the government, but does it have another alternative or another outlet? The regional government has, for a year or since the cessation of oil or oil exports, relied on Baghdad, which sometimes gives on credit and sometimes gives half of the employees’ salaries.”
He stressed, “It is up to the regional government, but it must first implement the decision of the Federal Court, and secondly, we have nothing else to rely on, as our oil is stopped, and the internal resources and border crossings’ revenues in general do not cover a quarter of the employees’ salaries.[/size]
