Former member of the Kurdistan Regional Parliament for the fifth session, Kawa Abdul Qadir, confirmed today, Saturday (March 2, 2024), that the Federal Court has become popular with the citizens of the region.
Abdul Qadir said in an interview, “The recent decisions of the Federal Court regarding the situation in Kurdistan have become like a savior for all the wrong decisions taken by the ruling parties in the region.”
He added, "The demonstrations by citizens in Sulaymaniyah in support of the decisions of the Federal Court expresses complete satisfaction with it, contrary to what the ruling parties say, that it threatens the constitutional entity of the region."
He pointed out that, “In the coming period, we will witness more lawsuits against any arbitrary measures taken against the citizens of the region.”
The Federal Supreme Court previously issued a ruling obligating the federal government and the regional government to localize the salaries of Kurdistan employees in federal banks and pay the salaries of employees on the same basis as their peers, away from financial disputes with the regional government.
