    ​A meeting attended by Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani, today, Sunday, witnessed the conclusion of an agreement regarding Kirkuk Governorate.

    Al-Sudani's office said in a statement, "Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani chaired, this Sunday evening, a meeting that included the winning political forces in the Kirkuk Provincial Council elections."

    During the meeting, according to the statement, “it was agreed to continue bilateral dialogues between the winning political forces to discuss the working papers that were presented during the meeting, in order to come up with one working paper within two weeks, and the form of cooperation that would resolve the problems between the different political forces, in a way that would accelerate the arrival.” To choose the new governor and elect the head of the provincial council.”



    Al-Sudani stressed "the necessity of continuing dialogues between all political forces, and the importance of their sustainability, in order to preserve societal peace in Kirkuk, which has a societal specificity. The

    first meeting of the political forces in Kirkuk, which was held last February, agreed on a set of principles, including agreeing to form A coalition to administer Kirkuk from all the winning forces. It was also agreed that the ministers will chair the coalition sessions until the constitutional entitlements in forming the local government are implemented.
