The leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Najiba Najib, attacked, on Tuesday, the Federal Supreme Court in Iraq, stressing that it “was not established on constitutional foundations.”
Najib said in an interview followed by Mawazine News, “The Federal Court is unconstitutional and was not established on constitutional foundations, and the majority of its decisions are against the Kurdistan region and there are foreign hands behind them, but now it is interfering in the affairs of the government and parliament, and it has replaced both.”
She added, "Whenever Baghdad violates the constitutional rights of the Kurdistan Region, Iraq in general will witness neither peace nor stability, and when Iraq is not stable, there will be no economic, political, and social progress in the country."
She pointed out that "the constitution is above the Federal Court, Parliament and the government, so we call on Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani to implement the constitution and send financial rights to the Kurdistan region as soon as possible."
