Great satisfaction and optimism with the results of Sudanese’s visit to Washington

Various parliamentary and political circles expressed their satisfaction and optimism with the initial results of the discussions between Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani and the Iraqi delegation accompanying him during his current official visit to Washington, while the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, confirmed that al-Sudani’s vision led to good stability in the country’s administration.
Deputy Chairman of the Strategic Planning Committee and Follow-up of the Implementation of the Parliamentary Government Program, Muhammad Al-Baldawi, told Al-Sabah: “The Prime Minister’s visit to the United States of America is of great importance, given the circumstances that this region is going through, which have intensified and reached the maximum level that it can reach.” "The height of the military conflict, as well as the region's economic resources that almost run the world."
He added, "Organizing relations with the United States of America requires such visits, due to the importance of the files between the two countries, the most important of which are those files that the Prime Minister is discussing, most notably the file of the foreign presence on Iraqi territory, and through the schedule of meetings during the visit that was published, we notice their diversity and the diversity of their dimensions."
He stressed, "We trust the depth of the Prime Minister's thinking and also his management of files, and we hope that the American side will have a role in committing to what will emerge from these negotiations, especially since the Iraqi negotiators have met and held such negotiations many times, but there has been a retreat from the American side," and he pointed out “We understand the nature of the Prime Minister’s role, his keenness, patriotism, sincerity, and strategic vision in drawing up a balanced bilateral relationship with the United States of America, through which we are determined to achieve the goals of Iraqi sovereignty, diversify the Iraqi economy, unleash the Iraqi hand in trade and commercial communication, lift sanctions on banks, and liberate Iraqi decision-making from hegemony.” Foreign Ministry, in order to achieve the hopes of the Iraqi people for security, prosperity, and sustainable stability.
In turn, the head of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Atwan Al-Atwani, said in a statement: “We are following with great satisfaction the results of the discussions of the Iraqi delegation currently visiting Washington, headed by Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani.”
Al-Atwani affirmed his "full support for the positive understandings that resulted from the Sudanese meeting with the American President within the framework of the shift in the relationship between the two countries from the security and military aspects to the areas of development, reconstruction, economy and investment."
Meanwhile, independent politician Ayed Al-Hilali, who is part of the Iraqi delegation in Washington, told Al-Sabah: “The current Iraqi leadership finds Sudanese’s visit to Washington of great importance in order to put the dots on the letters to begin drawing the future of relations between the two countries, and how to transform From a military and security presence only to a comprehensive, sustainable partnership through which the two governments (Iraqi and American) work to improve the performance of Iraqi government institutions and initiate a major development process.”
He added, "Iraq has set its feet on the path to modernizing the state's components, and has begun curbing corruption and linking Iraqi financial institutions to the global system. The government has also gone to modernize and create infrastructure in order to make Iraq an attractive environment for investments. Agreements have been concluded with major countries and companies, and this is what motivated The American side is expected to interact significantly with Sudanese reform steps.”
For his part, the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, said in his speech during the eighth forum in Sulaymaniyah: “The vision of the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia al-Sudani, led to good stability in administration and governance in the country,” calling at the same time “the Iraqi political parties to support the federal government.” ".
