    Baghdad today - Baghdad 
    Today, Saturday (April 20, 2024), the Parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee revealed the possibility of lifting US sanctions on some Iraqi banks after the visit of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani to Washington, as well as the extent of the visit’s success.
    Committee member Mukhtar al-Musawi told Baghdad Today, “The visit of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani to Washington was very successful, and will have tangible positive results on the ground during the next few days, especially with regard to the economic and financial aspect.”
    Al-Moussawi stated, “After Al-Sudani’s successful visit to Washington, there is a very great possibility that the US Treasury will lift the sanctions imposed on some Iraqi banks. We also believe that after that visit there will be a positive change in Washington’s policy towards Iraq, and we believe that this visit will have a major impact on Strengthening and strengthening the Iraqi economic situation.”
    Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani returned today, Saturday, to Baghdad, after a visit at the head of a huge delegation to Washington that lasted for a week, during which he met with the American President and a large number of responsible figures, as well as businessmen and heads of companies, during which 18 memorandums of understanding were signed  in energy, economics and development. The oil sector and the pharmaceutical industry, as well as the Undersecretary of the US Treasury.
