Today, Thursday, Representative Yasser Al-Husseini expected that the file for electing the Speaker of the House of Representatives would be resolved next week.
Al-Husseini said, in an interview followed by Al-Maalouma, that, “Until this moment, there is no agreement on electing the Speaker of Parliament, but there is a request for a period of one week in order to resolve the matter, so we hope that next week will be decisive in choosing the Speaker of Parliament.”
He confirmed that there is a consensus on extending the legislative term if the budget schedules reach the House of Representatives, and he expects them to arrive soon in the House of Representatives.
He explained, "If the legislative term is extended, during this extension a Speaker of the House of Representatives will be elected, in a continuation session of the previous Speaker of the House election session." Ended/25
