The representative of the State Support Bloc, Muhammad Al-Ziyadi, confirmed, on Tuesday, that there is a movement to collect signatures to add the paragraph of electing the Speaker of Parliament to the Council’s agenda for today.
Al-Ziyadi said in an interview with Al-Maalouma: “A number of representatives have begun collecting parliamentary signatures to add the item on electing the Speaker of Parliament to the agenda of today’s session, Tuesday.”
He added, “Since yesterday night and today, representatives of the Sovereignty and Azm Alliance began moving toward the Council’s representatives in order to collect as many signatures as they could of Council members,” noting that “adding the paragraph requires collecting fifty signatures or more, according to the bylaws.”
Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, postponed the session to elect the Speaker of Parliament until further notice, due to a quarrel and fistfight between the two representatives, Muthanna Al-Samarrai and Haibat Al-Halbousi, inside the House of Representatives hall.
