     Information / Baghdad
Leftist MP Talib confirmed on Sunday that the end of the UNAMI mission reflects Baghdad’s success in 3 strategic files.

The leftist told Maaluma, “These files are: Iraq’s ability to manage its security file, openness to the regional and international environment, and strengthen its role in international forums as a pivotal country supporting stability and peace in a region facing great challenges.”
He added, "The UN Security Council resolution reflects the government's success in dealing with sensitive issues, especially since it was the one who initiated this step, which comes to establish an Iraqi approach to confirming the principle of full sovereignty."
He pointed out that "Iraq's situation will be different in terms of building the security and political situation, openness and strengthening its regional and international role."
The UN Security Council decided two days ago to end the United Nations mission and set the end of 2025 as the date for closing its mission headquarters in Baghdad.
