Today, Friday, the Ministry of Planning announced the inclusion of 500 villages in Social Fund for Development projects, with a financing value of $300 million.
Ministry of Planning spokesman Abdul Zahra Al-Hindawi said: “The nature of the projects implemented by the Social Fund for Development are service projects in the poorest areas.”
He added, "There are 500 villages included in the Social Fund's projects, and these are present in all governorates of Iraq," noting that "the Fund's projects include building schools, extending water and electricity lines, paving roads, and establishing health centers in the poorest villages."
He pointed out that "the projects were divided according to a plan that includes a set of stages. Each stage implements a group of projects," noting that "the Social Fund project is financed by the World Bank at a value of $300 million, and the loan expires at the end of this year."
