Cabinet: Reappointment of resigned or out-of-work doctors

Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, during his chairmanship of the Cabinet session held yesterday, Sunday, directed the reappointment of doctors who resigned or left work in the Ministry of Health, in the grades allocated to the ministry within the 2024 budget law.
The statement of the Prime Minister's Media Office added that Al-Sudani also directed the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to prepare a study to expand admission to postgraduate studies within Iraq for medical specialties, according to the available capabilities for the next academic year.
He also directed that the Ministry of Health coordinate with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to prepare training programs for doctors outside Iraq, and that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research stop the establishment of medical colleges and departments in current or future private universities and colleges, in accordance with approved standards, and refer it to the Ministerial Council for Development to submit it to the Council of Ministers.
In the same context, the Prime Minister decided that the Inspection Department of the Ministry of Health, in coordination with the Iraqi Doctors Syndicate, would monitor the work of health institutions operating in the private sector, and that the Ministry of Health would coordinate with the Doctors Syndicate to study amending the Federal Health Institutions Establishment Law (25 of 2015).
The Council of Ministers approved the Ministry of Oil’s acquisition of the lands on which the Central Gas Processing Plant (CPF Gas) project will be built, within the Halfaya-Basra field, and the completion of the extension of the Dry Gas and Liquefied Gas (LPG) pipelines, in accordance with the principle of voluntary compensation, which includes voluntary compensation for the owners of the disposal rights.
The Council authorized the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Municipalities to choose the appropriate contracting and advertising method for the components of the Fourth Ring Road of Baghdad, for the purpose of expediting the contracting and implementation procedures for the aforementioned project, as it is one of the most important strategic projects within the government program.
The Prime Minister also directed the adoption of the mechanism proposed by the Federal Financial Supervision Bureau to calculate the amount of late payment fines on companies implementing the Rusafa Water Project.
The Council considered the project (Horizontal and Vertical Residential Complex for Al-Karama Factory Employees) as a strategic project, and authorized the National Investment Authority to grant an investment license for the above investment project.
