The Prime Minister's Advisor for Industry and Private Sector Development, Hamoudi Al-Lami, confirmed today, Wednesday, the development of pharmaceutical industries as a result of government support, while pointing out that work is underway to start producing chronic disease medications in the middle of next year 2025.
Al-Lami said, in a statement to the official agency, followed by (Mawazine News): "A campaign has been launched in all national factories to register many new medications that were not previously registered in national production, including the registration of 24 new medications for blood pressure, to be added to 6 types of existing medications for treating blood pressure."
He continued, "28 new medications have also been added for type 2 diabetes patients, as we used to produce only two types of medications for treating diabetes," stressing that "the development of pharmaceutical industries came as a result of government support for this sector."
He pointed out that "there is a plan to provide medications that have been registered before the middle of next year 2025," noting that "some medications were initially registered, while others were finally registered."
He explained that "the final registration of medicines requires providing production requirements and supplies, including raw and secondary materials, packaging, and other necessary matters."
Al-Lami confirmed that "all types of chronic disease medications such as blood pressure, diabetes, antibiotics, all types of painkillers, ointments, creams, cough medicines, and others will be provided in the middle of next year 2025."
