Regarding a separate matter, Miri said, "Gambling halls are hotbeds of crime and most of them have been eliminated," noting that, "Organized crime has decreased significantly compared to previous years and our priority is to strike the gangs and we have dismantled many of them."
He pointed out that, "In the Ministry of Interior, we will reach 7,000 lieutenants, and this is a plan that the ministry has taken in order to inject new blood."
Brigadier General Merry added, "The optical cable was connected from the Syrian border to Baghdad, as an achievement of the Border Forces Command."
Regarding the prosecution of drug dealers, the ministry’s spokesman revealed that “90 death sentences were issued against drug dealers.”
Regarding oil, Miri pointed out that, “more than 2 million liters of oil product were seized by the energy police, which was prepared for smuggling.”
Miri added, "The Residency Directorate is concerned with services for citizens not only inside the country but also for those coming to the country to organize their work. Next month, unified card stations will be opened outside Iraq, and this service is being provided to the Iraqi community for the first time."
He added, "The 'Your Card at Your Home' service will be implemented through the mobile station to issue the unified card to citizens in their homes."
In this regard, the Director General of Civil Status, Residence and Passports, Major General Nashat Al-Khafaji, announced that “the electronic passport factory will be opened in Baghdad, and the unified card will be activated outside Iraq in 17 countries, and now it is activated in only two countries outside Iraq, and national card stations will be installed in Iraqi embassies in countries around the world next month.”
