This time, it has moved to the file of manipulation and forgery in title deeds. The Ministry of Justice has revealed the intention to amend the Real Estate Registration Law. According to Murad Al-Saadi, Director of the Media Department at the Ministry of Justice, who told Al-Sabah: “Among the directives of the government and Minister of Justice Khaled Shawani to limit manipulation and forgery in title deeds and real estate brokerage, which often pose a challenge to the work of the Real Estate Registration Department, an amendment to the Real Estate Registration Law has been submitted to the State Council for approval.”
He explained that "real estate brokerage offices must operate within a legal formula determined by the ministry, and be licensed by it so that their work is subject to a specific body and is held accountable for it in the event of a legal violation."
He pointed out that "the ministry directed that brokers and brokers not enter the real estate registration departments, but unfortunately they are given agencies by the property owners that authorize them to enter, which leads to cases of manipulation and forgery of the original papers," noting that "if the amendment is approved, there will be a work organization for these offices, and they will be monitored and violators among their owners can be held accountable according to the law." Al-Saadi added that "these procedures were introduced to limit money laundering operations by relying on bank notification for sales operations in which the value of the property exceeds 500 million dinars, as the property amount is deposited with the bank, and the transaction is done through it, in addition to more organization of the buying and selling operations."
