    The Minister of Electricity, Ziad Ali Fadhil, directed the formation of an investigative committee on the background of complaints submitted by citizens in Basra Governorate regarding the high amounts of electricity consumption bills.
    A statement by the ministry received by "Al-Eqtisad News" quoted the minister as confirming that the government supports electricity prices for residential areas by 75%, stressing the need for the committee to submit the results of the investigation within a maximum period of 72 hours from the date of its formation.
    The Minister reiterated the Ministry of Electricity's keenness to follow up on citizens' complaints and address them with the necessary speed, and to ensure fair pricing in accordance with the applicable controls.
