    An informed source revealed, today, Saturday (November 23, 2024), an important message from the US administration to the "leaders of Iraq" regarding threats to target Baghdad.
    The source told Baghdad Today, "An important message arrived 72 hours ago from the White House to the leaders of Iraq, which included intensive American efforts to prevent Baghdad from being exposed to any attacks and to seek to formulate objective solutions that prevent matters from reaching a level that carries more tensions in the Middle East."
    He added that "America, through its message, shows understanding of the position of the Iraqi leaders regarding the events taking place, and it seeks to distance Baghdad from involvement in the conflict, while pointing to the necessity of taking steps to reduce the intensity of tensions, in reference to the file of armed factions."
    He pointed out that "the recent meetings of the American ambassador in Baghdad were focused on understanding the nature of the Iraqi political position on the events and explaining the consequences if the list of targets in the eastern region expanded, noting that everyone knew the danger of Iraq being exposed to any Zionist aggression and its consequences on American interests not only internally but also in other regions, which would lead to a major explosion."
    For its part, the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee sent an urgent message to the government today, Saturday (November 23, 2024), regarding securing Iraqi airspace, in light of Israeli threats .
    Committee member Alawi Al-Bandawi told Baghdad Today, "The Iraqi government is urgently required to conclude deals to purchase advanced air defense systems that are capable of truly deterring any expected Israeli aggression against Iraq in the coming period," stressing that "the airspace cannot remain violated without taking practical and real steps in this regard."
    Al-Bandawi added that "the Iraqi government must stress to the international coalition, led by Washington, to provide full protection for Iraqi airspace, in light of the existence of a security agreement that confirms this, until Iraq purchases modern air defense systems," noting that "Iraq has had a quasi-American veto over the past years to prevent it from possessing such systems, so that its airspace remains without real national protection."
    A source close to the Iraqi factions confirmed on Wednesday (November 20, 2024) that their headquarters had been expected to be subjected to imminent strikes by the occupying entity for months .
    The source said in an interview with Baghdad Today, "The factions are fighting an enemy that holds a grudge against the Arab region that has lasted for thousands of years. It sees itself as supported by the Western world, especially America, in carrying out crimes of genocide around the clock without any deterrent. Even the human rights platforms that have been deafening the world have remained silent about the martyrdom and injury of more than 140,000 Palestinian citizens in Gaza, with the destruction of 90% of the infrastructure and the transformation of cities into ruins ."
    He pointed out that "any strike will take the battle to a different level, indicating that the list of targets will expand in a way that will increase deterrence, stressing that "the threats of the entity and America will not force us to retreat, and they realize this."
