    Mon Aug 03 2015 02:23 | (Voice of Iraq) - MP for the National Coalition Kadhim al-Shammari, Monday, the Ministry of Finance demanded to reconsider its interpretation of Article 33 of the Budget Law and issued the decision to impose a 20% tax on sales Kartat Shipping phones. 

    Al-Shammari said in a press statement by his press office, that "Article 33 of the General Budget Law was clear where noted the imposition of sales tax on Kartat mobilization of mobile phone networks and the Internet by 20% of the card value," noting that "the desire of the legislature in that article is to be the tax on the seller which telephone companies and not the citizen. " 

      He added that "the interpretation of laws the focus of exclusively the Federal Court and not the right of any party within the executive branch interpretation of laws own personal jurisprudence that was it respect the citizen, to the fact that these things will make us in a difficult position in front of the Iraqi people in these difficult circumstances that the country is experiencing." 

      He said Shammari said "the Ministry of Finance not defective them undo the decision in the event of feeling mistake interpretation of legal material, but defective is to insist on the wrong attitude," adding that "the presidency of the parliament committees competent it approached the Federal Court to release the final interpretation of this article, which will be binding on all parties with the need to host the Finance Minister Hoshyar Zebari and director of the Tax Authority to inquire them about this decision. "

    The Ministry of Finance has set last Saturday [the first of August] as the date for obtaining tax from all mobile operators.
    According to one of the telecom companies in Iraq in a letter sent to its subscribers last Friday that "According to the Ministerial Order issued by the Ministry of Finance / General Authority for taxes for all mobile operators, will be starting from 01/08/2015 [Saturday] collection and transfer amounting to 20% sales tax of the nominal value are installed on the scratch cards and electronic packaging for prepaid service and monthly bills for payment service deferred tax sales of users. " 
    And it affirmed the financial Committees, services and reconstruction Alniabaten, last Saturday, that the imposition of this tax on the cost of purchasing the mobilization of setups cards phones is against the law as the budget 2015 provides for the imposition of sales tax law and not buy the mobilization of mobile phone cards, tax and must be borne by the mobile phone companies and is not a citizen. " .

    hmmm...right....like the seller wont add that cost on to the customer first efore selling
