Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) -The People Newspaper accused the followers of the Religious Authority, Mahmoud al-Sarkhi, of attempting to break into its headquarters on last Monday.
A press statement by the People Newspaper received by IraqiNews.com on Tuesday cited “Groups of Sarkhi’s followers are tried to break into the headquarters, but the interference of the security forces prevented it.”
The People Newspaper has reported on last Sunday that Sarkhi and three thousand of his followers moved to Karbala province where his followers protected him with concrete barriers in that area that he is residing in.
The Chief Editors of the People Newspaper stated “The report did not insult Sarkhi or his followers and it was based on accurate information,” noting that “Such behavior violates the freedom of press and practicing it in Iraq.”
