    Revealed the Iraqi Ministry of Communications on Tuesday its intention to contract with the private sector to extend optical cable in four provinces, as attributed this to the lack of funds and the "foot-dragging" the work of their companies, are expected to be public demand "great" on optical networking service within two years or when three of them secured by "benefits and services comparable to what they offer many mobile phone companies."
    Said Undersecretary of the Ministry of Communications Amir al-Bayati, said that "the ministry is considering the possibility of contracting with the private sector to implement optical cable project in the provinces of Babil, Karbala, Najaf and Basra," returned to "the excesses of the citizens on the sidewalks and streets hinders the implementation of the project."
    Al-Bayati said, "The ministry stipulated that the investing companies use drilling hidden technique, as a result of the relevant government departments inability to raise these violations," adding that "the ministry has contracted two weeks ago, with the sky Company of telecommunications services and Internet Co. Ltd., to run the optical telephone networks in the side Karkh district of the capital and the province of Wasit. "
    He explained the deputy minister, the "D-optic network in the Iraqi cities project needs a large field effort and a lot of money is not the state can secure them now," pointing out that "the private sector companies can get the necessary approvals by about a fast to begin work, and that red tape and the mechanism of action of the ministry and its very slow and it may cause delay of the project. "
    Al-Bayati stressed that "all Iraqi cities, including districts and areas, are available for companies wishing to invest the project through co-operation," explaining that there is a "huge demand by the private sector companies to run optical network in parts of Iraq."
    He continued, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Communications, "The ministry has identified in its contracts with private sector companies a time limit to be bound by it, depends on the size of the area covered," and expressed optimism that "" is public demand large optical networking service within two or three years, and that the first experience of the private sector companies in the optical network, which provides many advantages and many services of interest to the citizen comparable to what they offer mobile phone companies to build succeed. "
    Al-Bayati stressed that "the ministry has developed into account that the prices are competitive between companies through the project was awarded to more than one," noting that "investing companies will establish infrastructure for more than 15 years, making them compelled to determine the appropriate prices to attract people to their services."
    The Ministry of Communications, predicted in (28 December 2015), that brings optical cable project $ 120 million a year for the Iraqi treasury, while confirming that the project will be in partnership with two companies, one over him.
