A spokesman for the international coalition announced that the organization Daash used snipers to prevent civilians from leaving Fallujah, a city west of Baghdad, under his control and besieged by government forces.
Col. Steve Warren, a US military, told reporters at the Pentagon via video conference from Baghdad, said that "militants organize They put snipers in places oversees the corridors evacuation of civilians held by government forces to prevent the departure of the population of the city , located 50 kilometers west ofBaghdad, which suffers from a huge shortage of basic materials including medicines. "
said Warren" We know that the Iraqis repeatedly tried to open humanitarian corridors to can some of these civilians from leaving , but these efforts did not succeed in general because the organization Daash taking measures such as placing snipers to cover these corridors in order to kill people when they try to leave, and this is what led to discourage people from using it . " He said the US official that "Iraqi forces tried toestablish three corridors but not used because of the presence of snipers," adding , "We must , and the news has spread because no civilians tried to use these corridors in the weeks past."
The captured members of the organization on the city of Fallujah early 2014 after the outbreak of protest movement against the government, which later turned into a stronghold for organizing Daash. And took over the organization after that vast areas in Anbar province after the great attack , which took control of which the city of Mosul , Iraq's second city valuable June 2014.
He noted the US military spokesman said Fallujah "was the first city controlled by regulating the entire Daash more than two years, and therefore is pervasive in depth, and this difficult knot for us, it is a difficult knot for the Iraqi forces. " But he stressed that Iraqi forces were besieging Fallujah , "in general."
But Colonel Warren pointed out that defeating militants from Fallujah organization currently does not acquire military significance because the priority is to defeat them from Mosul, the largest city in northern Iraq. "There is no military reason" Iraqi troops push to liberate Fallujah before the liberation of Mosul.
And managed to Iraqi forces besieging Fallujah recently cut military supplies them after restoring theneighboring city of Ramadi.
The clashes broke out between the men of the tribes inside Fallujah with the elements of the organization for several days in February and was an indication of the weakness of the grip of regulation, but the fighting ended after the members of the organization arrested dozens of people and executed. The organization also announced the execution of a number of young people accused of spying for the government.
