    Search
    the commander of U.S. Central Command, Gen. Lloyd Austin with a number
    of Iraqi officials ways to support Iraq's role and contributions in
    establishing peace and security in the region.

    A statement by the
    U.S. Embassy received the Agency (news): Discuss Gen. Austin during his
    visit to Baghdad on 14 - 16 May current frameworks for cooperation
    between the United States and Iraq in the field of defense and regional
    security issues, and touched on the debate to the overall situation in
    Syria.

    Austin, where he met a number of Iraqi officials, led by
    Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and Defense Minister Saadoun al-Dulaimi
    Agency and National Security Adviser Falah al-Fayyad and Chief of Staff
    of the Iraqi Armed Forces Lieutenant General Babacar Zebari.

    The
    statement pointed out: that Austin said during his meetings with the
    efforts made by the United States in the framework of the Strategic
    Framework Agreement in order to support democratic development in Iraq,
    also stressed the role and contributions of Iraq in peace and security
    in the region.
