    University professor and specialist in the American-Kurdish relationship, Murad Hitoti, said, on Wednesday, that the statement of the US Department of Defense regarding Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin's visit to Iraq and the Kurdistan region confirms 5 common points.

    Hitoti added in a post followed by "NAS" (March 8, 2023) that the statement includes the following points:  
      
    First: Emphasizing the continuation of partnership and friendship between the Kurdistan region and the United States.  
      
    Second: Emphasizing the United States' support for a stable and developed Kurdistan as part of a federal Iraq.  
      
    Third: The survival of the American forces in Iraq at the request of the Iraqi government to provide advice and support to the Iraqi forces, including the Peshmerga forces, in the fight against ISIS.  
      
    Fourth: Emphasizing the importance of the urgent integration of the Peshmerga forces with American assistance, as stated in the memorandum of understanding signed between the Ministry of Peshmerga and the Pentagon.  
      
     Fifth: Examining the threats and risks facing the Kurdistan region.
