[ltr](IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Ghanim al-Jumaili revealed suspending the executions against the Saudi prisoners in Iraq.[/ltr]
[ltr]This decision coincides with the recent agreement concluded between Iraq and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to exchange prisoners to allow the convicts to spend their sentences in their countries.[/ltr]
[ltr]The Saudi Sharq Newspaper quoted Jumaili as saying “The Minister of Justice, Hassan al-Shimmari who visited Riyadh two days ago informed us that the Iraqi government will stop the executions issued against the Saudi prisoners in Iraq until completing the investigations over their cases.”[/ltr]
[ltr]“The Iraqi Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki welcomed the decision,” he added highlighting the two sides’ eagerness to reach a compromise in this regard.”[/ltr]
