Report: Brexit leader Nigel Farage moving to the United States

Nigel Farage, the interim leader of the U.K. Independence Party who spearheaded the Brexit movement, is planning to move to the United States, according to a new report.
Farage, who campaigned during the election for President-elect Donald Trump, and his wife, Kirsten, are planning to leave the U.K., insiders told The Times, adding that the Brexit leader has been interested in moving to the U.S. because it would allow him to be “freer” from the public eye.
The British politician has had a connection to Trump for several months and was seen this weekend entering the Trump Tower, where the president-elect has been holding meeting with potential Cabinet appointees.
“We’re just tourists,” Farage told reporters at the time, according to The Hill. Kellyanne Conway, Trump’s campaign manager-turned-advisor, called the meeting between the two men “very productive.”
She went on to say Farage and Trump “enjoy each other’s company” and “had an opportunity to talk about freedom and winning and what this all means for the world” during their sit-down.
Earlier this week, Trump suggested the British government appoint Farage as their ambassador to the U.S. The government quickly rejected the idea. “There is no vacancy. We have an excellent ambassador to the U.S.,” the prime minister’s office said.
