    He met with Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for bilateral affairs Nizar alkhairallah said yesterday the British Ambassador in Baghdad Simon Coles.

    "His agent thanked the British Government for its political support for Iraq in the Security Council and in various international forums, praising bilateral relations and cooperation in various fields and work to support British companies operating in Iraq, noting that the meeting was attended by Ziad Khaled, head of Europe".

    The Security Council last Thursday voted overwhelmingly to exit Iraq from international sanctions imposed under the provisions of Chapter VII, because of the previous regime's invasion of Kuwait in 1990.
