    [ltr]A British ship escorted a Russian ship as it passed near British territorial waters over Christmas, the Ministry of Defense said on Tuesday, adding that Russian naval activities had increased near Britain during the holiday. The frigate HMS St Albans was launched on December 23 to track the Russian warship Admiral Gorshkov as it passed through the North Sea. A British Royal Navy vessel observed the Russian ship during Christmas and will return to dock in Portsmouth today. "He will not hesitate to defend our waters or tolerate any form of aggression," British Defense Secretary Gavin Williamson said in a statement after the incident.[/ltr]
