Basra Council: Significant decrease in salinity of water due to the recent rain wave

Council member Ghanim Hamid said in a statement that "the recent rains caused the reduction of the salinity of the Shatt al-Arab to 1000 TDS per day, meaning that the three-day wave reduced salinity."
"In the event of a similar rain, the saline tongue in the province will end next summer," Hamid said.
The salinity rate in the [url=https://www.thebaghdadpost.com/ar/Story/t/3835/%D8%B4%D8%B7 %D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B9%D8%B1%D8%A8]Shatt al-Arab[/url] last summer was about 7500 TDS, which caused the registration of cases of poisoning and many diseases

Basra's provincial council announced on Saturday a significant decline in the salinity of the [url=https://www.thebaghdadpost.com/ar/Story/t/3835/%D8%B4%D8%B7 %D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B9%D8%B1%D8%A8]Shatt al-Arab[/url] waters due to the recent rain wave in the province, pointing out that the saline tongue in case of a new rain wave. Council member Ghanim Hamid said in a statement that "the recent rains caused the reduction of the salinity of the Shatt al-Arab to 1000 TDS per day, meaning that the three-day wave reduced salinity."
