    The Ministry of Health and Environment announced on Saturday that it is coordinating with its counterpart in the Kurdistan region to develop mechanisms for the importation of high-risk chemical precursors in the drug industry, stressing the approach of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to coordinate with accredited centers to send staff to train the mechanisms of dealing with them.
    "As part of its efforts to eradicate drug abuse, which has increased significantly recently, it has held an extensive meeting with the Committee on Chemical Precursors," said Emad Abdul Razzaq, the national mental health adviser. Which comes out of the Supreme National Commission for Narcotic Drugs in the presence of the security authorities and forensic medicine and the ministries of higher education and planning.
    Abdul Razzaq said that "coordination mechanisms between the Federal Ministry of Health and its counterpart in the Kurdistan region have been discussed in the import of chemical precursors and how to follow up their access to the final beneficiary, as well as discussing coordination with the International Narcotics Control Board on precursors, Laxica, amphetamines and opiates).
    "The Committee decided to approach the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to coordinate with the centers approved by the United Nations to send the competent authorities in order to train mechanisms to deal with these materials to reduce them," noting that "the National Commission for Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic substances held a meeting with relevant ministries" .
    He added: "The relevant bodies are: Interior, Agriculture, Justice, Labor, Social Affairs, Pharmacists Syndicate, National Security Apparatus, Ministry officials and representatives of the Ministry of Health of Kurdistan and the Ministry of Finance in order to develop the national strategy to control the spread of drugs and develop a phased plan for the current year 2019 And indicators related to drug issues ".
    The National Mental Health Advisor added that "the parties concerned will be identified and responsible for implementing the deadlines," revealing the agreement to request additional support from the Prime Minister for the purpose of responding to the essentials of the ministry's work in the field of drug control.
