Washington supports Iraqi elections on time
The US ambassador to Baghdad, Douglas Seelman, told the National Alliance leader, Ammar al-Hakim, Washington's support for holding the Iraqi elections on time and completing the liberation of the land from a terrorist organization.
The leader of the National Alliance, Ammar al-Hakim, stressed the need to hold elections on schedule.
"The head of the National Coalition, Ammar al-Hakim, received the US ambassador to Baghdad, Douglas Seelman, and discussed the two sides discussed the latest developments in the security and political situation and the war against the promotion and consolidation of the territorial integrity of Iraq," the statement said.
Hakim stressed during the meeting "the need to hold elections on schedule, stressing the importance of the adoption of the law on them."
He pointed out that "the deputies of the bloc of wisdom seek to pass laws that affect the lives of citizens and contribute to the building of the state."
For his part, the US ambassador renewed his country's support for the territorial integrity of Iraq, noting that Washington encourages the continuation of the dialogue between Baghdad and Erbil to resolve the outstanding problems between the two countries and to stay Iraq united.
He stressed the support of his country to hold the Iraqi elections on time and complete the liberation of the land from drowning the gangs of terrorist advocates.
Sileman denied reports that the international coalition forces had hit the Sayid al-Shuhada Brigades faction of the Popular Rally.
