(AFP) - Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi met at his residence in the French capital of Paris yesterday evening with representatives of the Talas Company for Military Equipment headed by its director Patrick Caen. He also met with the delegation of French oil company Total.
"The requirements of the security forces were discussed and their capabilities, arming and equipping them with the necessary equipment to sustain the fight against terrorism and to clear the liberated areas of mines and war remnants," a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office was received.
The statement added, "In what the Director of Total Oil Company expressed his desire to expand oil and gas investments in Iraq, stressing the company's keenness to deal with the federal government and the establishment and development of projects supporting the Iraqi economy in this area."
