    The Dhi Qar Provincial Council directed the province's administration to stop the legal proceedings against the University of Dhi Qar, concerning a number of buildings belonging to the labor and social affairs departments, which are currently occupied by a number of the faculties of the university. 
    The President of the Council, Hamid Naim al-Ghazi during his chairing an expanded meeting to discuss a number of issues concerning the work of the University and the problems faced by the representatives of a number of service departments and the University of Dhi Qar, "at the request of the presidency of the University of Dhi Qar, Especially with respect to university buildings. " 
    Al-Ghazi added that "the university was demanding the suspension of legal proceedings against it for the benefit of the labor and social affairs, because the university occupies the buildings of the faculties of arts, media and Islamic sciences."
    Al-Ghazi pointed out that "the Council intervened in the matter and instructed the Office of the province to stop legal proceedings against the university until the completion of the currently suspended university buildings." Facing the University of Dhi Qar and most service departments in the province the problem of the cessation of government projects as a result of the current financial crisis, which caused the suspension of 444 projects were being implemented at the expense of the development plan for the provinces of Dhi Qar, while stopped a number of other service projects, health and education, which was being implemented at the expense of ministries Federal. 
    The Department of Dhi Qar province has called earlier the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to modernize and expand the existing university buildings and the establishment of private buildings for the colleges that lack it, to fit the university buildings with the preparation of students at the universities of Dhi Qar and Sumer and the development of scientific laboratories to cope with the technical and scientific development witnessed by the world .
    The University of Dhi Qar has 19 colleges in which more than 19,000 students are enrolled. They are divided into (57) scientific departments in various scientific disciplines. It also includes (4) research centers: Marsh Research Center, Continuing Education Center, Electronic Computing Center,
