The South Korean Foreign Ministry announced that its representative at the six-party nuclear talks, Li Do-hoon, will meet with his Chinese counterpart Kong Xianyu in Beijing on Tuesday.
"Officials will exchange views on assessing the current situation with regard to the North Korean nuclear and missile program and will also discuss ways of cooperating in the management of the situation in a consistent manner," the ministry said in a statement.
The statement pointed out that this meeting will be the first meeting since the officials took office and is an extension of meetings held recently between the nuclear envoys of South Korea, the United States and Japan.
In recent months, North Korea has launched a number of missile launches and the sixth nuclear test - this time specifically for the hydrogen bomb.
