    Follow-up / Sky Press:

Saudi Arabia's Minister of Culture and Information Awad bin Saleh Al-Awad said the royal order on fighting corruption and tracking corrupt people is the state's approach to promoting integrity and advancing reform.

Al-Awwad stressed the Kingdom's keenness to protect public money and eradicate corruption, according to the official Saudi Press Agency, noting that this decision represents a shift in transparency, accountability and governance, resulting in a healthy environment attractive for investment and upgrading standards of perfection and quality.

Al-Awwad said that the fight against corruption is a formal and popular demand to achieve social justice, to consolidate the values of integrity, justice and equality in society and to accelerate the pace of reform and development to rejuvenate our country in various fields.

The Saudi minister added that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's letter to hold and track the corrupt is a clear and firm message that no one will escape accountability when he is found guilty of corruption.

He explained that this decision will have a significant positive impact on the Kingdom, the return of looted funds to benefit from the development projects, and the return of tens of millions of meters of land seized, to take advantage of them in solving housing problems.

King Salman bin Abdul Aziz announced the formation of a high anti-corruption committee chaired by the Saudi Crown Prince. Hours after the announcement, the arrest of 11 emirs, dozens of former ministers and four current ministers, was reported on Saturday, quoting a senior Saudi official who declined to be named, including Prince Alwaleed bin Talal and former finance minister Ibrahim al-Assaf.
