The Parliamentary Legal Committee confirmed that there is no agreement on the remaining two articles in the Local Elections Law in order to vote on its approval.

"All the meetings of the representatives of Kirkuk over the past months on articles 37 and 52, which are different, have not resulted in any final agreement, which has postponed the vote on the law for several sessions," said Salim Shawqi, a member of the committee.

He explained that "can not vote on all the articles of the provincial elections and provincial elections without the adoption of voting on the articles on the Kirkuk elections as final."

"We will proceed to vote on the government text on the Kirkuk elections in case of disagreement between the representatives of Kirkuk on the final version of Articles 37 and 52 of the Local Elections Law."

The parliament postponed the vote on the draft law on the provincial and district elections since August until now because the deputies of the province of Kirkuk reached an agreement on articles 37 and 52 are different.
