    The Committee on Agriculture and Water parliamentary, the existence of 30 thousand cases exceeded water quotas by influential parties in central and southern Iraq, calling for finding mechanisms to resolve the rapid drinking water crisis.
    "The current water crisis is not the result of external factors directly, although there is a shortage of water revenues in the Tigris River for natural reasons," committee member Shorouq Abayji said in a press release on Monday.
    She added that "the main cause of the water crisis is the large excesses on water quotas by the most influential," noting that "there are 30 thousand cases exceeded the water quotas, according to data from the Ministry of Water Resources, as well as the great waste in water uses, especially in agriculture and human consumption "He said.
    She explained that "after the arrival of the water crisis to drink, it is necessary to declare a situation similar to emergency and to take exceptional measures to provide drinking water by all means, including harnessing the mechanisms of most ministries and digging wells and the installation of rapid processing units and other immediate measures necessary."
    "The Ministry of Water Resources has worked to increase the water discharge from the dam of Derbendkhan and Mosul and modern, which means that water will arrive today or tomorrow to the southern regions that are experiencing a real crisis."
    She called on Abayji to "announce a long-term integrated strategic plan that addresses all the shortcomings and problems in the management of water resources."
