Al-Muthanna Council is talking about a Saudi initiative to build a "beautiful" port because of the government's inability

BAGHDAD / A member of the Muthanna province council, Harith Lahoud, revealed on Saturday the existence of an initiative from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the restoration and construction of the special body of Iraq from the border port of Jamaima between the two countries, pointing out that this gesture came to the government's inability to restore this body because of financial distress.
"There is a new talk about the presence of a gesture from the Saudi side to help Iraq rebuild the Iraqi side of the border port of Jamaima," Lahoud told Iraq News. "This port has great advantages for the country's economy in general and the Muthanna in particular."
He added that "this initiative, due to the inability of the government to carry out the restoration and construction of its own part of the port because of the financial distress experienced by the country at the moment."
The province of Muthanna on the seventh of August 2018 expressed its readiness to open the port of Gemayma border with Saudi Arabia.
"Security plans were put in place after discussing with the local government and security leaders to secure the opening of Al-Jumayma port, where all measures have been taken," Muthanna police chief Major General Sami Saud said.
In turn, the Deputy Governor of Muthanna Sami Nima, that with regard to the border port between Iraq and Saudi Arabia (port of Gemayma) borders of Muthanna province, the government has worked during the last period in ascending to obtain all official approvals and there were mutual benefits between the two countries and the approvals of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, to the final stages and there will be an official opening of the two governments and support for the success of the work of this port and the completion of a positive so as to enhance relations between the two countries Alhqiqian.
