Minister of Transport Kazem al-Hamami announced the achievement of Iraq a major achievement by registering Iraqi ports in the records of the World Maritime Organization.

Al-Hamami said in a press statement received by Al-Tijah Press on Wednesday that it was a major achievement to register the General Company of Iraqi Ports in the records of the World Maritime Organization after being excluded since 1980.

He pointed out that "the Ministry of Transport is achieving another achievement in the Iraqi ports through registration in the records of the World Maritime Organization."

He pointed out that "this decision came under the conformity of Iraqi ports to international standards and based on the campaign launched more than three months ago."

However, according to the statement, "it will be recognized on all facets of the sea, which was not included in the registration in the light of the curriculum prepared by the ministry within its plan for the coming years."
