The head of the Committee on Agriculture and Water parliamentary, Fratt Tamimi, that neighboring countries of Iraq deliberately cut the waters of the Tigris and Euphrates in order to destroy the Iraqi market, and rely on the products of these countries.
"Neighboring countries are using all roads to deprive Iraq of its water quotas, especially in the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, as well as the border rivers with Iran," he said.
"We as a parliamentary committee in contact with the Ministry of Water Resources and the Ministry of Agriculture to raise the awareness of the farmer and the Iraqi farmer for the use of modern irrigation means so that we can through the existing water to secure the agricultural sector and also secure drinking water."
Al-Tamimi pointed out that "neighboring countries follow the policy of dumping, which is one of the means used against us, so that Iraq remains a country that consumes agricultural products, demanding border ports to implement customs tariff laws."
