    [size=45]On Friday, the Government Media Cell revealed that the Ministry of Water Resources used “dead storage” to feed the Tigris and Euphrates rivers.[/size]
    [size=45]This came during a field visit carried out by the Government Media Cell to Anbar Governorate, in coordination with the Media Office of the Ministry of Water Resources, to follow up on the projects implemented by its formations in a number of locations in the governorate, according to a statement.[/size]
    [size=45]The visit included, according to the statement, “inspecting several sites, most notably the installation of floating pumps in Lake Tharthar, which is implemented by the General Authority for Operation and Maintenance of the Tigris River and the River Irrigation Department / Fallujah, and their work in dredging operations, removing mud deposits, and digging conveying channels to withdraw dead water storage and turn it into regulators.” Tharthar and division to feed the Tigris and Euphrates.[/size]
    [size=45]According to the technical reports seen by the cell, “The site of installing floating pumps in Lake Tharthar has exceeded 55% of completion, starting from the start date on May 24, 2022, and that the project to establish a floating pumping station in Tharthar Lake includes digging a 2,200 km canal inside Lake Tharthar with Removing sediments from the pump basin at a level of 40 and to a level of 34, while continuing to strengthen the sealing of the floating pumps basin, in addition to removing sediments from the main channel of the Tharthar Regulator and using specialized multi-purpose mechanisms to benefit from the reservoirs of Lake Tharthar in increasing the water flows of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers.[/size]
