The former French president Francois Hollande praised the role played by the Kurdish Peshmerga forces in the war against Daqash, indicating that he will remain stuck in mind.

"The role of the Peshmerga in the fight against terrorism and its support for Iraqi forces in the expulsion of Saddam from Mosul will never be forgotten," Holland told Kurdish media.

Hollande said he was aware of the deterioration of relations between Arbil and Baghdad, but hoped to settle all the differences as soon as possible.

It is noteworthy that the Peshmerga forces supported the Iraqi forces in the campaign to regain control of Mosul from the grip of Daash, but this unprecedented cooperation and coordination between the parties stopped, after Baghdad responded violently to a referendum conducted by the Kurdistan region in September 2017 to the extent that the crisis reached the armed confrontation.
