Trump and the Saudi monarch denounce the importance of achieving in Iraq and SyriaSaudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz called for the need to move the peace process in the Middle East, while US President Donald Trump has accused Iran of being a "danger" to destabilize the region, the two sides noted the importance of coordinated international efforts to combat "sting" in Iraq and Syria.
"The US President Donald Trump and Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz agreed on the need to confront the Iranian role in the region," he said during a telephone conversation. He discussed several regional and international issues, including recent developments in Palestine, .
"Saudi Arabia's efforts to find a political solution to the Yemeni crisis and to provide humanitarian and relief support to its people," he said, stressing "the need to move the peace process in the Middle East into international efforts."
He stressed that "the Kingdom's positions are consistent with the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital."
The two sides hailed the importance of what has been achieved in coordinated international efforts to fight the Al-Qaeda organization in Iraq and Syria. In this regard, King Salman called for a solution to the Syrian crisis that fulfills the aspirations of the Syrian people and preserves the unity and territorial integrity of the country.
On the other hand, Trump stressed "the need to address the Iranian threat to destabilize the region, praising the Kingdom's role in achieving stability and its efforts in this regard."
