Chinese Foreign Ministry announced on Saturday that China welcomed North Korea's announcement to halt nuclear testing.
"North Korea's decision to halt nuclear testing helps to ease tension and denuclearize the Korean Peninsula," the Chinese Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
North Korea will stop conducting nuclear and missile tests immediately and destroy a nuclear testing site in the north of the country in pursuit of economic growth and peace on the Korean Peninsula, state media reported.
The North Korean leader Kim Jong-un said in a statement that his country no longer needed nuclear tests or tests to launch intercontinental ballistic missiles because it had completed nuclear armament.
North Korea has said it will stop conducting nuclear tests and launching intercontinental ballistic missiles starting Saturday (April 21st)
