An expert on water resources underestimated the impact of the Turkish Elissu Dam on Iraq, stressing that "the impact of the dam is not final, but only during the period of dictation."

The water expert, Awn Diab, said in a press statement that "the water, after the dam, will be fired for the purpose of generating electricity and descending towards the dam of Mosul and can be stored and benefited from them," He said: "Linking the low current water levels of the Tigris River construction of the dam is confusing, His own is not accurate. "

"The Ellisu water has no clear current impact on imports of the Tigris River, and any impact takes a period of time because the dam is located north of the Iraqi border," said Diab, a former government adviser.

According to the water expert: "That doubled the crisis is the drought of the current year, did not fall rain and withdrew to the month of February and this is a strange phenomenon, as the rains in the past come in the months of November and December and the second .."

"The delay in rainfall has had a negative impact on the revenues of Iraq's water reservoirs," he said. "Spring rains in the river basin were not enough to give us reliable revenue during the summer."
