Human Rights Watch called on the Iraqi judiciary to change its approach to dealing with foreign women and children detained in connection with a terrorist organization.

The director of the anti-terrorism program in the human rights organization Nadim Houry, the Iraqi judiciary should take into account the individual circumstances and personal actions, and give priority to the prosecution of the most serious crimes.

He added that under the current Iraqi approach, those who committed acts of murder in favor of Dahesh receive the same punishment against women who married elements of the organization and have children, and that this approach does not make any progress in the course of justice or the rights of victims, and Iraq to change this approach.
