The Belt Initiative is a vital road to the future development of the world

"The Belt and Road Initiative is not just an initiative, it will be a future or a way in which countries find it necessary to communicate with each other, including Pacific island nations," said Kishmir Macon, a lecturer at the University of Fiji's School of Economics. "This initiative is very important for the future development of the world, especially for small, remote developing countries that lack progress in their social and economic development and are looking for ways and support to connect themselves with the rest of the world," he said. The Road and Road Initiative, proposed by China in 2013, refers to the Silk Road Economic Road and the 21st Century Silk Road, which aims to build a network of trade and infrastructure linking Asia with Europe and Africa along ancient Silk Road trade routes. "In another five or 10 years, I think the road and road initiative will not be just an idea or an initiative in itself, but it will also be a culture or a means for countries to interact with each other in a mutually beneficial way," he said. Macon believes the Belt and Road Initiative has created and benefits the world, including small island States in the South Pacific. Pacific island nations, including Fiji, which are defined as developing economies, need investment in infrastructure and new opportunities for international trade, he said, adding that they have benefited significantly from the belt and road initiative in recent years. Macon pointed out that some of the most recent projects implemented by China in Fiji include the Stinson Baron Bridge, the Fatuakwa bridge in Suva and the Nabalu-Derekite highway on the island of Vanua Levu, northern Fiji, among many other projects. Education and training, particularly in the development of skills required for the various projects of the Belt and Road Initiative, would also be an opportunity for Pacific Islands universities and institutions. Similarly, the local residents of the Pacific region can go for training and education in China in various areas where they need to, Macon said, adding that the South Pacific island nations could be partners with China through the initiative to help improve ICT systems In island countries and deal with the issue of climate change.[/rtl] [rtl]http://www.alsabaah.iq/ArticleShow.aspx?ID=159692[/rtl] |
