    Baghdad Today - Baghdad
An informed source revealed, today, Tuesday (November 12, 2024), that the Federal Ministry of Finance has returned the payrolls of employees in the Kurdistan Region.
The source said in an interview with "Baghdad Today" that "the Ministry of Finance sent the salary list and returned it to the region due to technical problems in the number of employees, their data and personal information."
He added, "This issue led to a delay in the process of sending the funds, as Baghdad was scheduled to send 540 billion to the region last Sunday, but the sending was postponed until the lists were amended by the Ministry of Finance in the regional government."
A government source had previously reported on Sunday (November 3, 2024) that the list of salaries for Kurdistan employees for the month of October had arrived at the federal Ministry of Finance.
The source told Baghdad Today, "The October list of salaries for employees in Kurdistan was delivered by the representative of the Ministry of Finance and Economy in the region to the General Directorate of Accounting in the Ministry of Finance in the federal government."
An informed source revealed, on Sunday (November 3, 2024), the date of the arrival of salaries for employees in the Kurdistan Regional Government for the month of October (the tenth), and the truth about the delay in sending due to the “My Account” project.
The source told Baghdad Today, "The Ministry of Finance sent the lists to its employees in the region, but the lists are awaiting verification, and will not be sent before the tenth of this month."
He added, "There is no intention to delay or stop sending employees' salaries for the month of October, due to the regional government's continuation of the (My Account) project, and the failure to localize salaries in federal banks, and the amounts will be sent successively after the tenth of this month."
In the same context, former Deputy Minister of Finance Fadhel Nabi commented, on Sunday (November 10, 2024), on the reasons for the continuation of the salary crisis between Baghdad and Erbil, and the lack of a final agreement.
Nabi said in an interview with Baghdad Today that "there are many problems between the region and Baghdad," adding, "But the problem of salaries was supposed to be resolved through a decision by the Federal Court, and the Iraqi Ministry of Finance must pay the salaries of employees in the region."
He added, "Some of the problems are the result of misunderstanding between the two parties. Baghdad always has comments on the lists sent from the region that are sent by the Ministry of Finance in Kurdistan, and every month a new problem appears."
He pointed out that "the main picture is supposed to be that the two parties sit in a closed session and end all these problems," stressing "the necessity of solving the problems in one basket, and that an agreement be reached on the method of sending the lists, amounts and numbers."
He explained that "the region's employees have their eyes on Baghdad to send salaries, and the delay affects the social status of the citizen."
The former Deputy Minister of Finance pointed out that "the problems are not big and can be solved if there is the will and intention to solve them between the two parties."
An informed source revealed on Saturday (November 9, 2024) that the discussions of the delegation of the Ministry of Finance in the Kurdistan Regional Government in Baghdad continued.
The source said in an interview with "Baghdad Today" that "the negotiations are ongoing in Baghdad, and the Kurdistan delegation met with the Audit Bureau in the Ministry of Finance and informed them of the numbers and figures of employees for the month of October, as well as developments in the process of localizing salaries."
He added, "There is an increase in the amounts compared to last month, and an attempt by the regional government to remove the names of lecturers who were confirmed on the regional government's staff, which is why the salaries were delayed, and also a demand from Baghdad to hand over the financial revenues to the border crossings for the past months."
He pointed out that "according to the information, Baghdad will send the first batch of funds within two days, amounting to more than 500 billion dinars, and it will be completed by the end of the week."
